The Report You’ll Get That Evening

Not a template. We write about your dog — how they actually moved through the day, and what to expect from them tonight. Here is a real one, shared with permission.

Lola’s First Day Adventure at Petcious!
from The Petcious Team

“When Lola arrived this morning, she took her time stepping into the space — and we loved that about her. She didn’t rush in, didn’t force anything. She came in carefully, at her own pace…”

“She wasn’t disengaged — she was learning. Every sniff is a piece of new information. By the afternoon, our team noticed a real shift in her. She seemed more at ease, more relaxed in her body…”

“On the practical side — Lola was absolutely perfect with her potty today, both on the pad and outside. Gold star, no notes.”

“Tonight, you might notice she’s a little quieter than usual, possibly thirstier too. That’s completely normal after a big day of new experiences. Let her rest, offer plenty of fresh water, and give her a little extra snuggle from us.”

Amazing day care for small dogs! My puppy Django started going to day care at 5 months old as we found it quite difficult to socialize him outside with larger dogs. It's only been around a month but...

I cannot recommend them enough. I adopted my dog during COVID, so he missed those crucial early socialization opportunities and was incredibly shy. It took time, but the Petcious team was so patient,...

Is Petcious Right for Your Dog?

We’re likely a great match if your dog:

  • Is under 25 lbs (so all playmates are the same size)
  • Is at least 4 months old
  • Is up to date on core vaccines (Rabies, Bordetella, DHPP)
  • Is spayed or neutered by 12 months — intact puppies are welcome before then

Worried about one of these?

Almost every concern we hear — “my dog is shy”, “she has never been to daycare”, “he’s older”, “she gets nervous around big groups” — is something we’ve worked through with another family.

All Petcious groomers are Fear Free certified (you can look up each groomer by name on fearfreepets.com) and our daycare team uses the same low-stress approach.

Why small-dogs-only? When every dog in the room is the same size, play stays gentle and no one gets overwhelmed. That’s why families drive from Surrey, Cloverdale, White Rock, and Maple Ridge to use us.

Common Questions

How much is the Trial Day?+
15% off our regular daycare rates — ongoing for any first-time daycare customer. Choose half-day (recommended) or full-day. See full pricing on our daycare pricing page.
Can I stay during the Trial Day?+
No — we don’t have parents stay during the day. Drop-off is a quick handoff at the door, and dogs settle in faster when their person isn’t around. We send you a written first-day report so you’ll know exactly how things went.
What if my dog doesn’t enjoy daycare?+
Most dogs do. For the small number who would do better with one-on-one time, we’ll be honest with you and share our thoughts based on what we observed — not push it. We don’t use a script; we just tell you what we’d do if it were our dog.
My dog is shy or anxious — should we even try?+
Yes. Many of our regulars started as nervous dogs. All Petcious groomers are Fear Free certified (verifiable at fearfreepets.com), and our daycare team uses the same low-stress approach.
My dog isn’t spayed/neutered. Is that OK?+
Yes — intact puppies are welcome. We ask that every dog be spayed or neutered by 12 months, and until then we go by the dog in front of us rather than the calendar. An intact pup can keep coming as long as play stays comfortable: settled in the playgroup, and no persistent mounting, marking, or tension with the other dogs. If that changes, we’ll talk to you first — you’ll never hear it for the first time at pickup.

Females in heat can’t attend daycare or boarding until the cycle has fully passed, usually three to four weeks.
What vaccines do you require?+
Current Rabies, Bordetella, and DHPP. Bring proof from your vet on your first day, or have your clinic email records to [email protected].
Do you take dogs over 25 lbs for daycare?+
We don’t. Being small-dogs-only is the whole point — it keeps play safe and lets nervous or older small dogs feel comfortable. For grooming, we accept dogs up to 40 lbs.
What’s your cancellation policy?+
We need 24 hours notice for any cancellation — Trial Day or regular booking. Just call or text 778-878-5264.
Can I take a tour first?+
Yes — we welcome tours before 7:30 AM or after 5:30 PM, outside daycare hours so our pups stay relaxed. Call 778-878-5264 to schedule.
Where are you located?+
C102-20670 Langley Bypass, Langley, BC V3A 0A3. Easy parking out front. Open Mon-Fri 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM. Closed weekends.
